Modern Extension

This project comprised of a single storey rear extension to an existing dwelling. This was an interesting project as the existing dwelling was of stature and directly adjoining the site is a grade II listed building. We introduced something modern to provide a little contrast ....
This private residence is located in the Midlands.
The existing dwelling is of a large structure. Our Client wished for a modern extension to the ground floor area which could enable them to enjoy their rear garden area.

Adjoining this site is Grade II listed building. The proposed extension albiet of a modern design did not cause detrimental concerns to this unit. Through productive works with the planning department, planning consent was attained.

We introduced a corner detail within the glazing system to allow the entire corner of the glazing system to be opened without any visible supports which creates a floating effect and allows the owners to take advantage of their private garden area.

To create a detail such as this requires careful detailing and accuracy. The careful selection of contractors and specialist was essential to implement the vision.

The exterior of the extension was partly rendered and partly cladded to create a distinct contrast between the existing dwelling and the extension.

The space created is a pleasant addition to the dwelling and the amount of glazing and natural light achieved creates a space where the inside environment joins seamlessly the external environment.

The attention to detail is clearly visible throughout, in our opinion it creates a fantastic addition to the existing dwelling.
